Online formative sessions for parents

At Woodlands Camp, formation doesn’t stop with our campers — it reaches the heart of every family.

During this summer’s edition of camp, we held weekly Formative Online Sessions for parents — moments of reflection, connection, and purpose, created to grow together as a community.

Each session began with a brief recap of the week’s highlights — a moment to catch up and keep parents connected to all that was happening at camp. From there, we moved into the heart of the session: a formative talk led by our camp director and Consecrated team, designed to inspire reflection and strengthen our role as parents. Parents then joined small breakout groups to share personal reflections and support one another through real-life stories.

Each session offered valuable insights into the role of parents in their daughters’ personal and spiritual journey. A message that resonated deeply was the importance of truly seeing the uniqueness of each child — recognizing their God-given potential and walking alongside them as they grow. It’s through this loving presence that parents help their daughters build confidence, self-knowledge, and a sense of purpose.

Topics explored throughout the sessions included:

  • Self-knowledge as the foundation for growth
  • The role of values in decision-making
  • How to form meaningful relationships rooted in love and respect

Through honest conversations and small group sharing, parents reflected on how to build trust, guide their children with empathy, and become a safe and loving space — helping them discover their identity not by what they achieve, but by who they are.

To continue this journey at home, here is some recommended material that can enrich reflection and support:

La conquista de la voluntad — a book by Enrique Rojas.
¿Amamos cómo nos amaron? — a podcast by Marian Rojas Estapé.

To all the parents who joined us — thank you.

Thank you for showing up, reflecting, and staying present for your daughters, even when miles apart. Your love made all the difference.
