2024–25: The Reopening Term for Dublin Oak Academy

This last school year at Dublin Oak Academy was a milestone—the return of a new generation after a season of pause. With open hearts and eager minds, these young men embraced the challenge of growing in faith, character, and leadership. The 2024–25 class will be remembered for building friendships, embracing traditions, and creating memories that will inspire the generations to come.

As Director of OAK Ireland, Cecilia Azcúnaga, expressed: “My hope is that many young people will have a deeply transformative experience during their time at Dublin OAK Academy.”

This past year proved that vision true.

From late-night conversations in the dorms and friendly matches out on the fields, to quiet moments in the chapel, this group built strong friendships and shared countless memorable experiences. Students from Chile, Germany, Mexico, Peru, Spain, the United States, and Venezuela shared their culture, traditions, and school spirit, filling Dublin Oak with energy and a renewed sense of community.

The year began with a special ceremony to mark the reopening—an occasion that will be remembered for years to come. Under a clear blue sky and unusually warm Irish weather, a majestic oak tree was planted as a symbol of new beginnings and strength. Staff, teachers, and students from both Dublin Oak and Woodlands Academy—our sister boarding school for girls in Ireland—gathered in a spirit of unity and celebration, sharing a memorable day of fellowship, photos, and connection.

As Ryan Clear from the OAK Ireland staff shared: “Seeing the buildings, once empty, being used again for the integral formation of these young men has been an incredible joy!”

Now, as we prepare to welcome the next class, the “generation of the return” has set the tone—reminding us what it means to live with purpose, to form lasting bonds, and to grow through the integral formation that defines Dublin Oak.
