c) The Deans of the Academies have periods of absence due to promotional trips. The table remains subject to the periods in which the Deans are at their respective Academies.

5. Confirmations

Academies will communicate acceptance by means phone, fax, e-mail or ordinary mail.

6. Candidates for the Ninth Grade

Due to the volatile temperament of teen-agers applications for ninth grade require several screening processes that aim to ensure that candidates adjust to their environment and, above all, have an enjoyable and prosperous stay. It is asked that admission applications be accompanied with written consent giving permission for an interview with either Legionary priest or an International Educator.

7. Student Visas

After receiving the letter of acceptance, parent should expect to receive the appropriate paperwork needed to apply for a student visa application from the academy or Oak promoter or representative. Successful obtainment of a visa is needed to confirm a student’s acceptance to the academy. Parents should seek to receive the student visa as soon as possible after learning of their child’s acceptance.

Note that in the case of Ireland, a student visa is not necessary.

In the case of Le Châtelard, the application is made at the nearest Swiss Embassy to your city. The Oak International promoter or representative may advise you accordingly.

8. Promotions and Discounts

To provide an incentive to promote the admission process Oak International offers several promotions and discounts exclusively in the areas of school tuition and boarding. Certain restrictions apply. No bank transfers and deposits should be made before complying with these conditions.

Oak promoters and representatives are not allowed to perform any administration or bank deposits regarding promotions. Likewise, they may not receive money in cash as a down payment, or as prepayment towards any course fees.

9. Spring Courses

Admissions to the Spring courses correspond to available space. The opening date for enrollment is September 15. Average grade restrictions apply (Admission Criteria.).

10. Semester, and /or Annual Pre-University Course at the Le Châtelard Academy

Once a student has officially graduated from high school he/she may apply to the Pre-University course. Registration for the semester course is subject to availability. A copy of the high school diploma is required alongside the application form.

11. The Admission Application Does Not Imply Acceptance

All admission applications will be reviewed by the academy at which point acceptance will be determined. Please take due precautions, so that in the event that acceptance is denied that the student will have registered in a school in his/her country of origin. Please also delay spending monies on clothing, equipment or airline tickets until after receiving official acceptance from the academy.

12. Revalidation of Diploma

The study revalidation process is conditional upon the final passing of the courses studied the academy.

The academies offer two opportunities for course accreditation: ordinary and extraordinary examinations. Parents of the candidate and the students themselves receive timely notice, so that in the event an extraordinary examination is needed they may take the necessary preparation. In such an event the academies provide guidance and advice, but do not offer alternatives or solutions in order to accredit the failed courses. The interested parties should make the necessary arrangements with their selected institution.

  • Academies in Ireland

Once the Annual School Course has been concluded and accredited at the Dublin Oak and Woodlands academies, certificates will go through a special revalidation process. Afterwards, they are delivered to the parents or legal guardians of the student, through our representatives.
  • Academies in the United States of America

We recommend that families previously investigate the possibilities of revalidation of studies, according to the standards of the respective government departments of education.
  • High School Courses at the Le Châtelard Academy

In the case of the High School courses at the Le Châtelard Academy, revalidation should be investigated prior to attendance. In each country, revalidations depend upon provisions of the government departments of education and the internal regulations of each institution.

13. General Study Rule

The programs of studies of each school are governed by the official curriculum in each country. Students are therefore encouraged to take brief “refresher” courses as needed upon returning to their country of origin to acquire the knowledge needed at each institution.
