Within the report, you can see the results from 31 young women and 35 young men. The average age of the students was 14 years old, and the ages ranged from 12 to 15 years old. The group comprised of students from Mexico, Korea, Spain, Chile. In the following image we can see the average scores for each group:
In the past, Everest used the PRE TOFEL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) as an exercise to prepare the students to take the TOEFL ITP, but the results were basically the same. Based upon that experience the Everest Academy International Program now administers just the TOEFL ITP every year in May.
The PRE TOEFL is geared towards high schools, while the TOEFL ITP (Institutional Testing Program) is designed for candidates to University studies. A perfect score is 800 points, and you need at least 500 points to be accepted to a university in the United States. At Everest, many students in 8th grade and some in 7th grade are above the 500 point mark. 50% of our students at Everest reach 500 points or more and 89% reach 450 points or more.
The highest score on record for Everest is 633 points. The highest score this year was 613 points.
