Everest Academy & Boys Boarding Program
Praesidium completed an Accreditation Visit to Everest Academy on March 6th, 2013. The purpose of this visit was to assist the academy in minimizing drift from standards during the Accreditation period. Drift can occur in almost any organization due to leadership changes, employee and volunteer turnover, and overall competing demands. The Praesidium analyst was onsite to verify ongoing compliance with the Accreditation Standards within the eight operations of the Praesidium Safety Equation and, as necessary, to provide consultation on specific situations.
When visiting with the Boys Boarding Program, leadership recognized the various risks inherent in a residential program and pointed out numerous safeguards put in place to help minimize those risks. Also, the Praesidium Analyst observed the boarding boys in transition between the Academy and the residences. They were escorted by one of the volunteers and supervised at all times.
The Accreditation Year One Visit clarified to Praesidium that Everest Academy takes abuse prevention seriously and that the safety of students there is paramount.
Praesidium found that Everest Academy and the Boys Boarding Program are currently in compliance with Praesidium’s Accreditation Standards.
